Founded in 2020, ASODEC is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the socio-economic well-being of marginalized communities through sustainable development, education, and vocational training.
ASODEC was established in response to the widespread poverty and inequality affecting communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Since our founding in 2020, ASODEC has been developing programs that empower individuals, strengthen communities, and create lasting opportunities through sustainable development, education, and vocational training.
Today, ASODEC works across Central Africa, particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the United States, serving immigrant communities throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area—including Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
Through partnerships, education, workforce development, and community-based initiatives, we strive to restore hope, uphold dignity, and create lasting opportunities for those we serve.
ASODEC believes lasting change begins within communities. Rather than providing short-term assistance, we invest in education, vocational training, and locally led initiatives that equip individuals with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to build sustainable futures.
By partnering directly with communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, we create concrete, culturally appropriate solutions designed to generate long-term, transformative impact.
Our recruitment process, in close collaboration with local partners like Maison de Solidarité des Femmes Défenseures (MSFD), ensures that every participant receives individualized support. Whether pursuing vocational training or formal education, all recruits are free to follow their aspirations. We take pride in seeing our young participants graduate and take confident steps toward secure, empowered futures.
